Moving to the UK and require assistance with financial relocation?
Financial relocation and banking services from Barclays Wealth International
At Barclays Wealth International, we may be able to offer specific help to you if you're relocating to England or anywhere else within the UK from overseas.
We cannot help with the physical move itself, but as part of your financial relocation we could offer you a wide range of innovative banking services in a choice of currencies. We offer many financial products that are particularly suitable for someone moving to the UK - the Resident Non-Domiciled (RND) or 'Res Non Dom' as they are sometimes known. These are available via:
- Relationship Manager Service. A fee-free personal, tailored solution designed to help affluent clients maximise their wealth is also available. A dedicated Relationship Manager will take the time to get to know you, in order to understand your circumstances and help you achieve your financial aspirations. The service is aimed at clients with balances of £50,000 or more (or currency equivalent) to place with Barclays Wealth International, or for clients who have come to live in or are moving to the UK, an annual individual gross income of £100,000 or more to mandate to a Barclays Wealth International account.
- iBank Plus. Available for just £10 a month (US$16.50 or £14.50), iBank Plus is for you, if you need a comprehensive international banking service to help you manage your banking across borders and time zones, simply and quickly.
- iBank. Our entry-level international banking service offers day to day banking facilities and a savings account plus access to a range of financial products and services, available for just £5 a month (US$8.50 or €7.50).
Depending on your needs, we may also offer you:
- Banking and investments outside the UK
- A UK mortgage
- Savings accounts
- Loans (subject to application and status)
- Expert financial and tax planning opportunities, in conjunction with our preferred tax advisers Ernst & Young1
If your move to the UK is imminent, we can even set up your UK bank account now so that it's open and ready for your arrival. The process is refreshingly fast and straightforward. As you'd expect, we would need to see some documentation with your account application. This could include documents such as your passport, driving licence and bank statements, for example.
You may provide either an original document or a certified copy. To find out more about certified copies and our application process please click here:

London is of course one of the world's most important financial centres, and Barclays Wealth International has a major presence in the capital. Your UK bank account can be based at our International Banking Centre in Knightsbridge, or you may wish to open an offshore account based in Jersey, Gibraltar or the Isle of Man.

Emigrating to the UK
As a non UK citizen emigrating to the UK, your RND (Resident Non-Domiciled) status means that you may be able to manage your wealth more effectively and take advantage of financial planning opportunities1. To enable this, you should base your account offshore in the Isle of Man or Jersey. Your funds would therefore be deposited with Barclays Private Clients International Limited (BPCI Limited), part of the Barclays Group.
Barclays Wealth has the understanding and experience to help you make the most of your special status while you're in the UK. We offer a range of innovative wealth management solutions specifically designed for people in your position, with tailor-made personal advice on our comprehensive range of products and services.
UK immigration rules
Emigrating to the UK is normally straightforward but, as with other countries, there are many conditions governing entry, employment, length of stay etc.
The UK government department overseeing immigration is called the UK Border Agency, part of the Home Office. You will find all the information you need on its website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk
